Women’s health and menopause information
At the practice, we understand that women’s health needs change throughout their life and we are here to support you every step of the way. Our team is committed to providing safe, compassionate and UpToDate care.
Common areas we can help with
Maria is our dedicated enhanced nurse prescriber who can review everything women’s health, from fitting, removing and replacing Coils and Implants, discussing and prescribing alternative contraception options, to advising on HRT and menopause relief. Several of our GPs also have an interest in women’s health and provide external training for other clinicians to develop knowledge in this area further.
A common range of other women’s health issues dealt with at the practice are:
- Menstrual health – painful, heavy or irregular bleeding
- Cervical screening
- Fertility and pre-conception advice
- Sexual health advice
Menopause and perimenopause support
At the practice we have dedicated menopause clinics, known at the practice as “HRT+Biscuits” to support patients via group consultations. The feedback from these has been extremely positive and allows women to share experiences and gain knowledge of how to navigate the menopause.
Common symptoms of menopause are:
- Hot flushes
- Night sweats
- Irregular periods
- Low mood, anxiety or brain fog
- Difficulty sleeping
- Joint aches and muscle pains
- Vaginal discomfort
At the practice, we take a personalised approach to menopause care, tailored to your individual needs and medical history.
If you are struggling with any aspect of your health, please complete a klinik to book an appointment with a GP to discuss your options.
